TIA Responds to Concerns that IP Transition Leaves Some Americans Behind

Arlington, Va. (Nov. 6, 2014) – In response to a statement by Public Knowledge expressing concern that Americans who use the existing phone network not be "left behind," the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, released the following statement:

"TIA supports the approach the FCC has taken toward the IP transition, which is to move forward with communications network modernization, while preserving the four enduring values of communications policy law — public safety, universal service, competition, and consumer protection."
