Spectrum Sharing Research & Development White Paper
As the spectrum crunch continues to loom over America’s fast-growing wireless ecosystem, policymakers and industry alike are beginning to explore innovative solutions. As a result, spectrum sharing is increasingly a topic of focus among regulators, industry, and the science & engineering community.
On December 10-11th at TIA’s CTO Council Roundtable, TIA released a new white paper, “Spectrum Sharing Research and Development.” This white paper reviews current and proposed sources of R&D funding for spectrum research, and identifies some specific R&D areas that hold promising potential for rapidly advancing the state of spectrum sharing technology. The white paper includes several recommendations intended to assist in guiding actions by policymakers in Congress and the Administration, and as a blueprint for spectrum sharing R&D activities in academia, industry, and elsewhere.
The white paper is available here.
